“By meditating on the spiritual heart, the seeker can discover his own inner treasures of peace, joy, light and love.” — Sri Chinmoy
Meet the facilitators
Both Grahak and Nirbhasa have been practicing meditation (and teaching free meditation classes!) for 25 years. They were asked by their teacher, Sri Chinmoy, to give introductory classes free of charge to the general public, because inner peace is something that we should all have.
Nirbhasa Magee from Ireland For Nirbhasa, giving these classes and workshops is his absolute favourite thing to do in life. He has given classes all over the world – including a series of talks in 2009 here in Singapore. He currently lives in Czech Republic and is lucky enough to work as an archivist, preserving all kinds of meditation-related things so they can be passed down to future generations.
Grahak Cunningham from Australia Grahak has been meditating since the age of 16, and gives talks all over Australia and abroad. He also gives motivational talks on a variety of topics – how to get better focus, resilience, and inner strength.
Why the two of us? One reason we like to give classes together, is we both love sports. For both of us, meditation and sport go very well together. If fact, our meditation led us into the world of ultrarunning, and into an unimaginable journey. Both of us are four-time finishers of the Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence 3,100 Mile Race, the world’s longest road race, and Grahak has actually won the race, in 2012.
Our workshop is about meditation – not sports – but at the same time we might tell a few stories from our journey which we think will inspire you.
Here’s a video interview with Grahak about the race:
